What is a Goldador?

A Goldador is a cross between a golden retriever and a labrador retriever. Goldadors have a shorter coat than a golden, but a longer coat than a lab. They are quite intelligent, as their parents are considered two of the smartest breeds. They are very people and family friendly, and are wonderful playmates for kids. As a result of being so smart and friendly, these dogs make an excellent choice for a first time dog owner. Also, thanks to their easygoing nature and keen intelligence, Goldadors have proven outstanding guide dogs, service dogs, search and rescue dogs, therapy dogs, and bomb detection dogs. But like their parent breeds, Goldadors are happiest simply working alongside a person they love. Goldadors are normally quite active, as both parent breeds were bred to hunt, and require some exercise every day. Afterwards, however, they are just as happy to lounge with you on the couch. Finally, a Goldador will live an average of 11-15 years. Overall, Goldadors are a wonderful pet that will make an excellent companion to anybody.
